SolarWinds has released fixes for two security flaws in its Access Rights Manager (ARM) software, including a critical vulnerability that could lead to remote code execution.

SolarWinds, a provider of IT management software, has addressed two significant security vulnerabilities in its Access Rights Manager (ARM) software. One of these vulnerabilities, identified as CVE-2024-28991, carries a critical severity rating of 9.0 out of 10 on the CVSS scale. This flaw involves the deserialization of untrusted data, which could allow attackers to execute arbitrary code remotely.

The exploitation of such vulnerabilities can have severe consequences, including unauthorized access to sensitive information and disruption of critical services. Organizations using ARM are strongly advised to apply the patches promptly to mitigate potential risks.

In my opinion, this incident highlights the importance of proactive vulnerability management and the need for organizations to maintain up-to-date software to protect against emerging threats.
